Thursdays was a 7 mile
recovery run. I plotted my route using the RunGo app, I have used
this in the past and it’s always worked reasonably well for me.
I did the run in the
morning after working a night shift, This is not something I do
often, I prefer to run after a sleep but needs must – I did find I
got tired quicker though.
It was beautiful route
due to a huge chunk of the run being off road, I was really enjoying
myself thinking how perfect the route was, that was until around mile
I was back running on
the pavement again and when I looked up my jaw dropped – The mother
of all hills, I had totally forgot about this hill, it was huge, I
was knackered when I got to the top.
Between mile 5 and 6 I felt my energy levels drop but I knew I did not have far to go so I carried on but I was pleased when I finished 🙂
No stinging nettles on this route but loads of bushes spraying rain water on my legs, I will take that any day to getting stung 🙂
Time to get back to work, Night all

I had a really good run today, I was trying to get a few hills in but could not fit the extra and keep within the 7 miles my training plan asks of me. I did manage to get one large hill in at about the 3 1/2 mile stage. This hill was really hard and fun, sweet was dripping off my head afterwards. I want to use this hill more often.
As usual I waited until I got to work to do my strength training, as a driver I spend most of the night sitting down so it’s really good for me to get some training done on my break.
So I have just under 20 minutes spare late evening so down goes my mat, off comes my shoes and I do a fantastic body weight workout. It takes me less than 10 minutes giving me just enough time to roll my mat up again and get a drink of water, my arms are feeling great for ages afterwards.
I do wonder what other people might think if they walked passed me when I am on the floor doing my planks etc lol
- Distance 7.09 mi
- Pace 8:23 /mi
- Time 59m 31s
Have a great night all

I had a fantastic run today – 12 miles total.
I wanted to include more hills in my runs and I was getting a bit fed up of my usual route, I do not get board easily but after running the same route for months on end I thought it was time to change.
The route I ran had a beautiful hill at around the 3rd mile so I took a steady pace up to the hill so as not to burn myself out, in fact I made a point of not checking my pace on the whole run and just enjoying the run.
The second big hill was between mile 6 and 7, My legs complained most on this hill but I knew that its mostly down hill and flat running when I reached the top.
It’s nearly midnight now, 7 hours after my run and my legs are still letting me know I ran today 🙂
I am researching training plans for my November marathon (27.7 miles), I am hoping to find a good ultra training plan (30 miles) as I think this will prepair me best.
Well time to get back to work, sleep well.
