My new running vest has arrived

Today my new running vest arrived from The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity.

This fitted perfectly and I wore it with pride on todays run.

Todays run was a 30 Minute easy run which I ran 3.30 miles (9:07 Min/mile)

I did a warm up before the run, I never usually do this but reading online it seems to be the right thing to do, This took less than 10 minutes so not bad.

After my run I did some strength exercises, another first for me but I am hoping this will help improve my running time and reduce my chances of injuries.

I am so looking forward to tomorrows run 🙂

8 Mile run

Today being Sunday (26th) was my long run, 8 miles in fact, 8 miles in wind and rain, It was actually quite fun, I got soaked of course and it really slowed my pace down but it was good practice for my marathon.

As the weather seems to have got colder and we are getting more rain my wife went out this morning and bought me some mens running tights to go under my shorts, I was grateful for them as they kept me warmer.

I completed the run in 1 hour 14 minutes with an average pace of 9:18 min / mile

I did get to try out my new trainers, They were waterproof, My feet were the only thing left dry at the end lol

I was so looking forward to getting a race pace today but it was not going to happen in this weather, never mind.
